While it is hard in this economic crisis to be thinking about the cost of a wedding and what savings you are going to have to make, the one thing i would say is do not ditch the photographer! Now i can see your thinking "well you would say that it's your business".

The problem is your day goes by in such a blur that you can barely remember anything, at the evening function you hardly see your new Husband/Wife due to all the people you want to get round and talk to, so the best way to help jog those memories are the photographs.
I have had so many couples say to me on the proof day, "wow i really don't remember that bit" and (to their partner) "gosh do you remember that?"

This is where the importance of an album comes in, yes you see other photographers offering a CD only service but lets be honest are you really going to get them all printed and put them in an album yourself? Or is it going to be viewed on the computer a few times and then get put in a drawer?

At least with an album put together by a professional photographer the day is laid out and you can just take it off the shelf and look at it anytime, or even take it to relatives who have decided not to join the computer age!

So if you are thinking that you can't afford the photographer just remember that pound for pound over all the money that's spent it's these moments captured that will last you a lifetime.
